Product Description

GEOCHEM ENGINEERING offers Geogrids, from the low strength grade up to high strength, combined Independent body certificates and CE marking along with their in situ proven performance.

Our Company’s aim is not only the supplying of qualified Geogrid products but also the technical support for the right choice of the best value/performance reinforced solution.

Our Technical support can be started as a reinforced solution suggestion or a preliminary design and can be finished as detailed construction drawings along with cross section calculations.

  • Biaxial Geogrids
  • Uniaxial Geogrids
  • Composites and Asphalt Reinforcement Geogrids

are all included in our company’s product range

Technical Details

Base -SubBase Reinforcement

Geogrids for base and subbase courses of unpaved or paved roads and highways are used for reinforcement purposes.
The mechanisms by which geosynthetics provide reinforcement when placed at the subbase and subgrade interface, include lateral restraint or confinement of subbase material and increase in bearing capacity
Benefits:

  • Improves Service Life of the Road
  • Equivalent Performance using reduced structural (reduced aggregate layer)
  • A safety factor in case of a weaker subgrade derived from design values or inaccuracies in the design methodology (Increases bearing capacity)

Basal Reinforcement

Basal reinforcement is defined as a horizontal reinforcing layer, or a mattress placed at the base of the embankment, which has been founded on a weak stratum of the soil. Basal reinforcement stabilizes an embankment over soft ground by preventing lateral spreading of the fill, extrusion of the foundation and overall rotational failure

Benefits:

  • Improves embankment stability by increasing the foundation bearing capacity
  • Bridges sinkholes and voids and supports embankment load
  • Allows for time bound construction (compared with Pre-consolidation method) and also meet the stringent requirement of allowable settlements for high speed railways and motorways.

Retaining Walls

The usage of geogrids in retaining wall construction is in the area of soil backfills. Holding the soil together will help in a stable retaining wall construction. The soil structural integrity can be increased by reinforcing it by geogrids. This help in confining backfill as well as help in distributing the loads. The geogrids solve the problems with soft backfill or sloping ground

Benefits:

  • Steeper inclination and Higher retaining walls can be achieved
  • Construction can be made more economical, compared to traditional methods.
  • Green Wall facing

Asphalt Reinforcement

Reinforcement of asphalt overlay is a efficient solution for controlling premature reflective cracking and other problems associated with pavement overlay

Benefits:

  • Reduces maintenance cost
  • Reduces surface rutting
  • prevent reflective cracking
  • extend the operational life

Veneer Reinforcement

The Soil mass of a veneer cover placed over a lining system in a landfill could cause a sliding failure resulting in the liner’s rupture. Instability of a slope can be caused by gravitational forces (weight of the cover soil), construction moving equipment, seepage forces within the cover soil, and seismic forces in applicable areas.

Benefits:

  • Steeper and safer side slopes
  • Additional landfill capacity
  • Allows Green and vegetated slopes in waste and landfill Cappings
